l just found out that PayPal sold or gave my credit card info to someone who charged my card over $344. I've cancelled my card and have tried to report it with no luck.

My question: l have to buy some things online with my credit card, what is the safest way to do so?

a specialist with the national identity fraud checked the charge out and told me that it was Pay Pal. l only use paypal so there is not anyone else.

PayPal can not legally sell ur credit card information to anyone.

That being said, use a prepaid credit card, it will only have as much money as u put on it, & wo not be tied to any other financial sources. IE: If u put a $100 on it, & it gets 'stolen', yes u loose $100 but at least u ONLY loose $100

Additional Details: l am not disputing that someone got ahold of the credit card, but it was not paypal selling ur info, sorry, they r to large a company & make to much money (they r owned by eBay) to bother selling individual credit card accounts to crazed Russian hackers. No, ur credit card was picked up elsewhere (maybe a resteraunt? How hard would it be for the waiter to make a copy of ur card) & then whoever had the info USED PayPal to buy stuff (a common thing, it is harder to trace who used it & where from). But PayPal did not sell ur info.

How did you find Paypal sold your info? That really can not happen. You may be at risk as it may be someone else who sold your credit card info and you may be wrongly under the impression its Paypal.
