I am turning 18 next Sunday and plan on getting a credit card. I am going to buy the 2009 Cbr600rr in February when it comes out and I am thinking of the best ways to do so. l am going to be putting $3000 down and hopefully that will be enough. l am going to get the ABS on it probably just to be safer but yeah this is the card l was looking at-http://firstusa.com/cgi-bin/webcgi/webserve.cgi?partner_dir_name=cac_honda&page=index. It looks like l would be able to earn some reward points/credit for when l go buy my bike in Feb but I am not sure if this is the best way to buy my bike because I am sorta new to this stuff. l also heard about the Honda card which l could use to finance the bike but l have heard stories that they are a rip off. l doubt a regular bank would give me a loan just cause of my age so l would probably have to finance through the dealer...but idk. l do have a job l work 5 days a week for UPS

l have my permit and l have a scheduled MSF course this week so l can get my license

l can have my dad Co-sign for me if l have to

l have ridden motorcycles before

If your father is willing to co-sign, then you should not use a credit card at all.
Go to a credit union and finance the bike through them, you will have a fixed interest rate and it would depend on your fathers credit score. It if is good enough, you may pay only 4.5% which is the going rate now at most credit unions for a new vehicle.

Use the credit card for gas!
