Like whos gonna fail next or what will happen to our middle class folks like myself l can barely afford to buy food .Gas went down in missouri but groceries stayed high so now l think they need to look at these grocery stores Whats your thoughts on our next direction were going ?Have any banks in your town failed?

Well. l am no expert, but l did study history, & l think we can learn from it if we try. Noone wants to draw comparisons to ''The Great Depression'' because it is too scary for a lot of people. Americans have become used to a certain standard of living for a very long time & will not easily accept anything less. The problem as l see it is the overall ideology that pervades our society.

That ideology is to spend, spend, spend, borrow, borrow, borrow with little or no thought giving to saving. Every single person working right now should packing away every red cent they can in preparation for what could be hard times. To depend on the government to fix everything is lazy & stupid.

People keep handing over responsibility for their welfare to elected officials & whoever else they think might be able to save them. l think the government bailout will pass, BUT l do not think that the banks will pass on their good fortune to the general public. Once their books r clean, l think they will resume their previous habits & the market may continue to suffer a decline. How fast or how slow is enitrely dependent on the level of restraint shown by the banks once they receive their bailout. It wo not get better anytime soon though. And once again, l think EVERYBODY needs to be saving!

If the bailout fails, you can count on something WORSE than the Great Depression of '29. So bad that l hear that even stores like Wal-Mart will have to close their doors almost immedietly. Even if the bailout goes through we will likely still go into a depression. People around here are being told they may have to wait up to 4 months to withdraw large amounts of money from the bank to avoid a run on it.
