If u have had a steady account at a bank, most of them will help u get a credit card.

Lots of stores have their own credit cards now, too (which may only work inthat store). You can also contact Visa, discover, or american express through their websites.

Most will require some sort of income to show u have a way to pay them back, & will start u with a low credit limit to make sure u can handle it.

Credit is NOT free money, & can get u into a lot of trouble if taken lightly. You should always ask yourself why u need to buy something now (and pay interest on it) when u can save for it & buy it in full. Interest equals more money, & l have known friends with interest rates as high as 28%.

This means every time they spend $100, & do not pay it back at the end of the month, they have to pay $128 the next month. It is really not worth it in the long run unless u need it for a true emergency.
