My Credit Card Company Charged an Annual Fee to my Card and Now l am over the Limit. Is there anything l can do? It was my understanding that the fee was only charged once when l first got the card, and l got my statement and they charged it again, which put me over my limit, which hit me with an over limit fee. Is there anything that l can do? Or am l just out of luck?

If it is the anniversary date of when u took out the card, they have done nothing wrong. Call them & offer to pay the annual fee in addition to the amount u would normally pay. Ask them to take off the over limit fee.

If u r in good standing, u might just ask them to remove the fee. If they say no, ask them to transfer u to the dept. where u can close the card. Those folks have more latitude to give u a credit to cover the fee to keep u as a customer.

In the future, do not charge anywhere near ur limit.

Call your credit card company and ask them to remove the fee BECAUSE you were not given a notice as to when you will charged the annual fee.

An annual fee is charged annually.
That would have been explained in the fine print when u first opened ur credit card account. Therefore, it is in ur best interest to refrain from calling then & demanding ur money back & blaming it on them (they hear it ALL the time.)

Instead, give a call to their customer service, explain to them that u simply did not read the fine print, & since the Annual Fee sent u over the limit you're requesting to have a ''one time courtesy adjustment'' of the over limit fee.

Do not try to get the Annual Fee adjusted, as that was stated in the terms of ur Credit Card. Well-- l guess u could try, but u will be wasting ur breath.

Again, if this is the first time you've been hit with any sot of fee, u should not have a problem getting it waived as long as you're honest, patient, & kind. Trust me-- it really gets u way further to be kind to who you're speaking with.

wait, we r assuming he/she read the fine print, sorry, l gotta side with the credit card co. on this. what u understood and what is their policy are 2 different things, call and inquire b4 u demand they take if off and then will demand that you read your statements. also note, each month card make update and send out notices with regular statements.

b4 u start demanding, make sure u r right by they rules not yo idea
