i sold scrap gold on ebay for £350 it was roughly about 80-90g
so l posted it all special deivery the next day.
the following day l got an email from the guy stating the gold l sent him was underweight and 2 of the items were not gold. (which they were)
anyway.... he asked me to refund him £100 back which l refused to do as l sold him the items described.so now he has raised a paypal dispute stating the items dont meet the description.

i have already transferred the money from my paypal account to my bank account so now my pay pal account is in a negative balance.

what can l do if paypal go against me?

They have their own debt collection agency and you will be hounded in the same manner as a credit card issuer would if you did not pay them.

l would contact paypal ASAP. l have filed issues with paypal to get money back for items l did not recieve & it took over a month of the person not contacting paypal in order to receive the refund. Hopefully, u went through the process & did not just ignore the complaint. Perhaps u have photos to send paypal & can argue the point of proof. In this case it cannot be verified in either way what u sent or what the person received & l would stress the latter as hard as l could. l have also heard horror stories about paypal so be careful. A friend of mine can no longer use paypal due to identity theft & his refusal to pay them for charges he did not make. Good Luck.

they will eventually send the debt to collections (assuming that u do not pay). thing is, 9 times out of 10, paypal is on the side of the buyer, not the seller. u usually need ironoclad proof for paypal to side with you, which u unfortunately do not have. after all, it is not like paypal is going to demand that the buyer bring the gold into court with a scale. count this as a lesson learned, as u will most likely be eating the cost. do not let this go to collections as it will go worse for u & it will affect ur credit for the next 7 years.

You seem like an honest eBayer. Why not ask the guy to send back the items you posted for a full refund. If he does not agree to that solution then he is wrong.

If he is dishonest then he will make excuses. Paypal should then hopefully side with you.
